Wall Jack

A small hardware component used to tap into a telephone wall cable (e.g., an RJ-11 wall jack usually has four pins; an RJ-45 usually has eight pins).



Wavelength

The distance between identical points on an electromagnetic wave as it propagates over time.


Wavelength-Division Multiplexing (WDM)

Optical transmission technique that uses different light wavelengths to send data. Combination of two or more optical signals for transmission over a common optical path.
